The Bible is supposed to be the bedrock of Christianity and that is the position on which this website is established. Based on that premise buildontherock seeks to produce articles on Bible topics that are proved from the Bible. Whenever a Bible topic is presented the proof must be established using the Bible alone and only afterward supported by external evidence.

Christianity is based on a saviour, Christ. If He is false in any way then Christianity is false and we are wasting time as Christians i.e. as followers of Christ. Christianity is based on Him: what He said, what He did and so on because He is the example and the hope. If it is in contradiction to Him then it is useless as a hope of salvation no matter how popular it is or how authoritative the patronage.

Buildontherock believes that the credibility of it's publications must be in the content, not vested in the author, hence there will be no attempt to showcase authors. Each article should be judged on the internal evidence for the subject and should be presented in a way that such evidence can be verified by the typical Bible user. It should always be assumed (and there is some support for this) that the author is an idiot who may be lucky enough to get it right sometimes; although the author believes that it is not luck but the Holy Spirit.

Buildontherock is not intentionally aligned with any religion although the site can be lumped into the class called Christian. The reason for this is that this website seeks to worship Christ as God but for some that does not seem to be a requirement of being called Christian. In the opinion of this editor, worshiping means complete trust and confidence but religions at times appear to reject this. For example Christ says that He and the Father are one, and religion accepts that this means in complete agreement; yet they somehow project an image of an evil Old Testament God and a nice New Testament one. Worshiping Christ as God means that Christ must be considered to be infallible and the Old Testament God must therefore be infallible since Christ wholly endorsed it. This brings us out of alignment with many so-called New Testament Christians.

Buildontherock considers the Bible, meaning both the Old and the New Testament, to be the infallible word of God. This does not mean that the English translation is infallible and it does not mean that copying errors could not have occurred in the original Greek or other ancient language. Christ confirmed every jot and tittle of the Old testament but for some the New Testament is subject to personal interpretation when the book plainly states something different. As far as this website is concerned the Bible provides internal clarification for its truth and we need not attach our own interpretations but earnestly pursue the internal clarifications.

Matthew 7:24-27Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: 25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. 26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: 27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.
